James Belcher

Jimmy Belcher was born in Warren County,
Kentucky on November 8, 1918, and was an only child.
During the 1951 racing season, Jimmy was 5 feet 10 ½ tall and
weighed 155 lbs. He had brown eyes,
black hair, and a dark complexion. He
was an auto mechanic.
Jimmy raced at Hopkinsville, Russellville,
and Bowling Green, Kentucky as well as at tracks in Clarksville and
Nashville,
Tennessee. He suffered several
rollovers in his racing career but had no injuries.
Jimmy’s
main hobby was car building and
racing. He always owned his own
car. 8-Ball was a 1934 Ford powered by
a 1946 Ford motor.
