William Manning
Bill Manning was born in
Bowling Green, Kentucky, on June 22, 1920. In 1951
when Bill began racing at Beech Bend Park he stood 5 feet 8 inches and
weighed 150 lbs. Bill had blue eyes, brown hair,
and a ruddy complexion.
Bill’s entire family were
racing enthusiasts. His wife, Evelyn, and his
sister, Mary Pebley, always raced in the Powderpuff derbies.
Bill drove F-45 sponsored
by Tater Webb. It had a 1934 Ford body with a 1945
Ford motor.
